Led a year of R&D at Fullscreen prior to application builds, to define the target demographic, product features & benefits, and product positioning in the competitive landscape. This custom platform was subscription-based and delivered over-the-top.
The consumer apps enabled the creation of GIFs directly from the player to be shared out to social. Market observations showed that this behavior was already occurring with a reasonable amount of friction. This innovation removed the friction and simply allowed for existing behavior to occur more easily.
Research indicated that the targeted demographic was accustomed to short-form video, due to the proliferation of consumer video products. Long-form was considered anything over 5 minutes.
To meet the needs of this demo, and delight their consumption habits, duration and mood-based search was implemented. This allowed the user to watch content appropriate for how much time that had available and how they were feeling.
